In September, 2004, a
different type of medical facility opened. Time and planning had been
spent on the 12,000 square feet Medical Center/Pharmacy with a special purpose
in mind. That purpose was to empower center employees to assume
responsibilities to complete paperwork and provide patient contacts so
that center providers' time was available to be spent entirely with
patients.
By training employees to
assume expanded roles with patients this allows extra, valuable time for
center providers to spend with patients. In order to allow
employees
to assume expanded roles - in order to incorporate a team approach
toward patient management - an extremely strong and talented group of
employees is required. This is our greatest strength.
Imagine entering a foyer to find a red baron dog fighter swooping down
through the golden sunlight. A waiting room with a nine (9) feet tall
T-Rex with a family of pterodactyls swooping from the sky and in the
adjoining Pharmacy a nine (9) foot fully reticulated Giraffe with metal
dogs hanging from the ceiling, all engaged in different
sports.
And the nursing station
- Wow! - with dogs in the band again hanging from the roof as the
drummers and banjo players perform.
Using the metal yardbird art
created in Jamestown, Kentucky - The Kolb Center for Rural
Art - has been established within this new
medical center. Murals use unusual but exciting color schemes throughout
this new out-patient facility.
The building was built to provide a quality building for our
patients; our customers; our staffs; a facility that showcases the best
rural art. The result is just spectacular!
Use of color and decoration
is meaningful in our lives. Color creates and changes our moods. Bright
is cheerful and Dark is sinister; depressing. In this new facility we
had a magnificent opportunity to create wellness; upon entering this
facility we encourage smiles, happiness and peace. Medicine, medical
care, improved health, and quality of life are what we offer. This, in
the presence of comfort, dignity and caring in an effort to attack pain,
illness and death. Our facility is different; we care enough to provide
the best; the best in care; the best in facilities.
Then, too there is the Bowman Chapel - A peaceful place for reflection,
meditation, prayer, with easy access for both staff and patients.
