Question by John: How do I control nail fungus until I go to the doctor?
I had gone to the doctor and found out I have a fungus nail on my toe. She told me I have to go to a dermetalogist t take pills. Is thee anything out there to cure it without the pills? The fungus may be under the nail also, which is the reason I need to take pills.

Fungal nail infections respond to topical nail lacquers and oral anti fungals. Once the diagnosis is confirmed by sending nail clippings to mycology I can’t really understand why your GP needs to refer you. Even the most average of GPs would simply manage the problem themselves!

Question by dorko: Nail Fungus?
I’ve had the nail extentions for about a month. It’s just my luck that I just started getting them done again I might have nail fungus. Its almost right in the middle of the nail and it looks like a green smudge. I can’t really tell coz of the powder filling that they put on it. When I got it done, I noticed it but the guy didn’t say anything so I didn’t think much of it. But now its bugging me and I keep staring at it. Nail fungus that I’ve seen was yellow and made the nail all brittle and yucky looking. How can you tell if it is nail fungus?

Question by Scenic Point: Nail fungus?!!!!!?
My boss’ wife – a manicurist – recently inferred that I have nail fungus. Was this because my nails are thick and tips white or, because my nail beds were cloudy and scuffed at the time because I had been working with a lot of heavy lyes and detergents? Natural french nails aren’t by themselves a sign of nail fungus are they? My recovered nail beds are a shiny rosy pink though yes, my tips are white and my nails are thick and will usually grow until I cut them. My nails have always been just the way they are now. My hair is long and thick, too. I always thought they correspond to each other though I may be wrong about that. (Women can be so snide…..)
